About our Pastor

Dale Kidd grew up in Virginia and was saved at the age of eleven on a Sunday morning in the worship service of his home church.  By the age of seventeen, circumstances had led him to an independent Baptist church and he surrendered his life to the Lord during a revival meeting under the preaching of Bro. Sammy Allen from Resaca, GA.

Once Bro. Kidd surrendered to the Lord, God began to immediately work in his life and led him to Lynchburg Baptist College (now Libery University) where he prepared himself for full-time Christian service.  Soon after graduation he married Robin Lefferts, his high school sweetheart, and entered into full-time ministry.

In the fall of 1980 the Lord opened the door for Bro. Kidd to join the staff of the Church of the Open Door in Westminster, Maryland where Dr. Shelton Smith was the pastor.  For the next seventeen and a half years he served in this great church in numerous capacities including youth pastor, single adults pastor, and Christian school administrator.

In the spring of 1998, Bro. Kidd accepted the call to become the pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.  During his six and a half years in North Carolina, the Lord blessed the ministry in many ways.

In July 2005, Bro. Kidd became the pastor of Deep Springs Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia where he served for the next ten years.

In March 2016, Bro. Kidd became the pastor of Edgewood Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

During his years of ministry, Bro. Kidd continued his formal education.  He has earned M.A. and M. Div. degrees from Luther Rice Seminary and a Ph.D. from Bethany Theological Seminary.

Dr. Kidd has two married daughters and five grandchildren.  He enjoys time with his family, sailing, golf, building projects, and most outdoor activities.
