Unto you therefore which believe... Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God. 1 Peter 2:7, 10.
We are the people of God. We believe certain traits should define us, traits that we are endeavoring, to the best of our ability and with the help of God, to embody. We believe the people of God should be the following:
A Holy People - But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:15-16
A Hungry People - As the heart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. Psalm 42:1
A Helping People - As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Gal 6:10
A Happy People - Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD. Psalm 144:15
A Healing People - But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
A Hearty People - Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Matthew 22:37
A Harmonic People - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Psalm 133:1
A Hopeful People - Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13
At Edgewood Baptist Church, being the people of God is our vision.
